convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love
of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans
8:38,39 In the words of an old song, "You'd
better stand for something or you'll fall for
anything!" In our society there are many people who
say they love God...but they deny Him through their
actions. These are the ones that go to church on Sunday
and live for the Devil the rest of the week! The sad
truth is: these are the hypocrites that the world sees
and causes them to say, "If that's what Christianity
is about... I don't want anything to do with it! If
they're going to Heaven so am I...I'm just as good as
they are!" It's time for the TRUE children of God to
stand up and show the world what living for God is all
about! Listen to these words of a pastor in Africa as he
explains his level of commitment to Christ: "I'm part of the
fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power.
The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The
decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His. I won't
look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my
present makes sense, my future is secure. I'm finished
and done with low living, sight walking, small planning,
smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane
talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need
preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits,
or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops,
recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by
faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by
prayer, and labor by power. I won't give up, shut
up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up,
paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a
disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I
drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me.
And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem
recognizing me-- my banner will be clear!" So now I want to ask you a question: Just
who are you? A Christian or a hypocrite? Friend, if you are
unsure about where you stand in God's eyes, then I want
to invite you to pray this simple prayer right now:
"Jesus, I'm afraid and unsure about my life. At
times my life doesn't make any sense and I'm searching
for answers. I believe that you have what I'm looking
for. So I'm going to trust you with my life, my future,
and my soul. I ask you to forgive me for the sins and
mistakes that I've made. I believe that you died on the
cross for me...that you took the shame and the blame for
my mistakes and failures upon yourself so that I wouldn't
have to pay the penalty for my sin. Thank you for giving
me eternal life! Now, give me peace concerning my future
and all that it holds. Amen."
